What Pflugerville asks of your property
Inside Pflugerville city limits, apartment communities hire their own hauler. The city publishes a list of companies authorized to collect solid waste and recycling from commercial, condo, industrial, multifamily and institutional properties. City code makes those franchises non-exclusive, so your community chooses among the listed haulers.
Residential collection is a separate, exclusive franchise with Waste Connections, most recently granted by City Council on April 14, 2026. Multifamily sits on the other side of that line, with the franchised haulers.
Recycling is voluntary. City code encourages residential recycling but sets no recycling or composting mandate for multifamily properties. Austin is different: communities there with 5+ units must provide recycling and composting.
- Trash hauling: your choice of the city's franchised haulers
- Residential franchise (Waste Connections): not your community's service
- Multifamily recycling: voluntary
- Multifamily composting: not required
Check the city limits before you check the rules
A Pflugerville mailing address does not always mean Pflugerville city limits. Some Pflugerville-addressed neighborhoods sit outside the city.
The rules follow the city limits, not the envelope. A community with 5+ units inside Austin city limits falls under Austin's Universal Recycling Ordinance: composting required since October 1, 2024, compost picked up at least weekly, and an annual recycling plan. Inside Pflugerville city limits, none of that applies.
We quote each community on its actual location, its existing waste contract and its collection needs, so a Pflugerville property does not pay for Austin obligations it does not have.
| Requirement | Inside Pflugerville city limits | Inside Austin city limits (5+ units) |
|---|---|---|
| Who hauls the trash | A hauler you choose from the city's list of franchised haulers (franchises are non-exclusive) | A licensed private collection service |
| Recycling | Voluntary | Required: capacity equal to trash, or 24 gallons per unit per week |
| Composting | Not required | Required since October 1, 2024, picked up at least weekly, 1 gallon per unit |
| Signage | No city requirement found | Information in at least two languages |
| Annual paperwork | No city requirement found | Annual recycling plan, filed between October 1 and February 1 |
Valet trash works alongside your hauler
Valet trash is doorstep collection, not hauling. Your franchised hauler keeps servicing your containers under the contract you already have, and your quote is built around that contract.
Every service the crew polices the compactor area: strays bagged, overflow photographed and reported. It is included in the per-door rate, not an add-on.
What every Pflugerville contract includes
The same service we run everywhere, quoted to your property. Residents set containers out before the window opens, and they do not need to be home.
- Our own crews: background-checked, badged, uniformed and covered by our insurance. We do not subcontract, franchise or staff routes through an agency.
- Doorstep collection one to seven times a week, in a window set with your property. The contract matches the community.
- A door-level report by email every service, with exceptions photographed and timestamped and resident notices ready to forward
- Compactor area policed every service
- Lidded containers for every unit, replaced as they wear, plus move-in kits for new leases
- Doorstep recycling on the same route as an optional add-on, for communities that choose to offer it
- A missed door made right within 24 hours at no charge, and that unit's monthly RPMTX fee credited if we miss the same unit twice in one billing month. A miss is trash set out in the service window, at the door, where the crew could reach it. The service log decides.
- No setup fee, no fuel surcharge, no container deposit, no admin fee
- Contract terms of 12, 24 or 36 months, and we quote all three
- $2M aggregate general liability, commercial auto and workers' compensation, with certificates naming your ownership entity before the first service
Pricing
One per-door rate for valet trash, with no junk fees. It steps down as door count rises, and service days per week and building type scale it from there. Your actual rate is set after a free property walk.
Communities typically bill residents $25 to $35 a door for the amenity. The calculator on our pricing page shows the illustrative spread for your door count, fee and service days per week.
